Great-West Life, London Life and Canada Life have made a $25,000 contribution to the Hawkesbury and District General Hospital (HGH) Foundation’s Access 2018 Campaign.

“We are very grateful to have received this incredible donation from Great-West Life, London Life and Canada Life. Thanks to their incredible support, residents of our region will soon no longer need to travel upwards of 100 km each way at all hours of the day and night in order to receive state-of-the-art diagnostic imaging services,” says HGH Foundation Executive Director, Pierre-Luc Byham. The cheque was presented by representatives from Freedom 55 Financial, a division of London Life Insurance Company.

About Access 2018

The HGH Foundation’s Access 2018 campaign will help provide HGH with two pieces of state-of-the-art equipment, a new CT scanner and a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) machine. The campaign objective is 4 million dollars.

The CT scanner and MRI are used to quickly diagnose and treat health conditions such as tumours, heart problems and strokes. Currently, patients have to travel to a city hospital for MRI exams. When operational at HGH, the machines will be used approximately 15,000 times per year.
